WAITANGI CONSOLIDATED.
In th« western section of No. 3 level, above the intermediate level, Waitangi Consolidated mine, Thames, a start was mads last week to open out on the reef. The ore looked very well, and showed nice minerals and a little free gold. A further distance of sft was driven in the intermediate level east, making a total distance of 35ft from the rise. A start was also made to drive on the western side of the rise, and' a distance of 6ft 6in was taken out. The ore looked to be of fair grade in both faces. MONOWAL The manager of the Monowai mine, Waiomo, reports that in No. 4 level, last week, the east 'crosscut was advanced from 18ft to 24ft across the lode channel. Some nice-looking veins of ore were intersected. Quartz was still showing in the face. MOUNT MORGAN RETURNS. By Telegraph—Press Association Copyright Brisbane, September 24. For the month ended 19th inst. the Mount Morgan concentrators treated 12,940 tons of. ore, containing 241 tons of copper and 230z of gold, of the total value of £63,966.
