INCREASES DURING WAR.
RAILWAYMEN'S DEMANDS.
Loxnox, September 16.
Another thousand operatives have been thrown out of work in Yorkshire owing to a dispute concerning overtime.
At the railwaymen's conference it was decided to urge the branches to refrain from ill-advised action pending the completion of negotiations with the railway companies.
According to a Board of Trade report, over 2.500.000 workers have received bonuses and increases of wages since 1 the outbreak of the war, amounting to £475,000 a week, apart from the extra amount they earn, by overtime.
