THE USES OF TONICS. Toxics are remedies which gradually restore the various bodily organs, muscles, and nerve cells from a lax and sluggish state to one making them capable of normal activity. Tonics impart a sense of increased well-being and strength, they are not to be confused -with stimulants, which may give an immediate false strength. There are tonics for the nerves, blood, and stomach, but undoubtedly the most useful is one having a combined effect and generally benefiting the system.
