AUCKLANDER'S LEG CRUSHED.

HIS CONDITION SERIOUS

[BY TELEGBAFH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington", Thursday. Private Archibald Hood, aged 29, son of Mr. Geo. Hood, of De%onport. Auckland, fell off a train bound for Trentham last night. The wheels of several carriages passed over his right leg. which was terribly crushed. . Hood crawled to a house some distance a%vav. Assistance was promptly rendered, but it was two o'clock before he arrived at the hospital, when the injured leg was amputated. His condition is serious.
