ASIA MINOR TOWN IN FLAMES.

TURKS SAID TO BE RETIRING INLAND. INTERNAL DISCORD IN THE CAPITAL. Times and Sydney Sun Serrices. fa London, September 14. Reuters agent at Athens reports that Focha, on the Gulf of Smyrna, in Asia Minor, is in flames. It is believed that the Turks are destroying the coast towns and retiring into the interior, in anticipation of the fall of the Dardanelles. The correspondent of the London Times at Mitylene says: "The signs of internal discord at Constantinople are multiplying. The resignation of the Sheik-ul-Islam is known to be due to his disapproval of a continuance of the war. It is stated that this feeling is shared by most of the Mussulman priests in Turkey, who have always viewed with misgiving the irreligious tendencies of the Young Turks. The Mayor of Constantinople has resigned owing .to his alarm at the sufferings of the people."
