COOKERY FOR INVALIDS.
TECHNICAL SCHOOL CLASSES.
Areasgemznts are being made for the holding of classes in invalid cookery by the Auckland Education Board. " The proposal has been explained by Mr. J. P. Kalaugher, supervisor of the board's manual and technical branch, in a letter to the Mayors of Cambridge, Devonport, Pukekohe, Thames, Waihi, and Whangarei, asking for their assistance. The* scheme has been appoved bv the chairman of the board, Mr. G. J." Garland/ -who is so strongly of. opinion that the classes would be of "great benefit that he , has recommended that no fees be charged to the ladies attending. " A practical knowledge of invalid cookery, desirable at any time, is rendered much more valuable now that so many soldiers are returning invalided • from the war," Mr. Kalaugher writes. "The board is desirous of enabling instruction in this important branch of domestic science to be made available to all who desire to receive it, and the board trusts that the ladies of your town •will take advantage of this offer." It is proposed to arrange classes, -with 24 as the maximum number of students in each. The f fcourse will extend over 10 weekly lessons of two , hours. or two and .? a-half hours each.
