STOCKS AND SHARES.
BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.
Business was quiet on the sharemarket yesterday. In standard stocks, Bank of New Zealands (fully paid) were looked for at £15 17s 6d and £15 19s, but sellers held for £16 ss. New Zealand Insurances were quoted at £5 16s by sellers and at £5 13s by buyers. A sale of Standard Insurances was reported at 33s* Auckland Trams (ord.) found sale at 21s 6d. Wilsons Portland Cements (ord.) were done at (23s 6d).
WaQiis were offered at 365, and buyers were prepared to give 355. Buyers quoted Waihi Grand Junctions at 21s, but sellers wanted 21s 6d. Talismans were in demand at 17s 3d, sellers asking 18s 6d and 18s 3d.
