EPSOM ROAD BOARD.
THE DRAINAGE SCHEME
The Epsom Road Board met last evening. ; There were present: Messrs. F. H. Wood, chairman, R. G. Clark, E. Clay, J. B. Macfarlane, and H. Frost. , The engineer's report showed that 02,328 ft of sewers and 9500 ft of branch dram have now been laid, with 94 manholes, 73 lamp holes, and 682 house connections. The engineer stated that the introduction of the electric power for the pumping station threatens to be a source of delay, and suggested that an endeavour should be made to hasten the work, as •the low level district will derive no ad- - vantage from the installation till the power is available. The report was adopted. The board's solicitors advised that Mr. i >.' oisen had -accepted the board's offer of £1250 as compensation for the property in Kimherley Road and Gillies Avenue acquired by the board for a pumping station. , It was decided to hold a special meetmS. next Tuesday to discuss the report, which is being prepared by the engineer, on* the proposed improvement of the Toads.
