EXPORTATION OF WOOL.
TRADE WITH AMERICA.
SAFEGUARDS IMPOSED. [BY TELEGRAM". —rRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington*, Monday. The export of wool to the United States of America is permitted onlv under license from the Department of Trade and Customs, and at the present time is restricted to Merino and black-faced wools. In order to prevent the possibility of any such wool being used for enemy purposes, importation in America is, by arrangement with the Imperial Government, under the control of the Textile Alliance, Incorporated, of New York, whose approval to any proposed consignment must be obtained before a license is granted. The representatives of that firm in New Zealand are Messrs. Brandon, Hislop and Brandon, solicitors, of Wellington.
