SUCCESS OF WAR LOAN. £13,000,000 SUBSCRIBED. Melbourne, September 2. Mr. Fisher now states that the subscriptions for the first instalment of the Australian war loan, which was fixed nominally at £5,000,000, have exceeded £13,000,000. The Mutual Life and Citizens' Insurance Company is the biggest subscriber to the war loan. The company has applied for £1,000,000.
