ART UNION BOOK STOLEN.
THIEF FIXED £10. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Daxnevteke, Tuesday. A YOT7XG man named George Amos Curran was fined £10, or two months' imprisonment, for stealing an art union book in connection with the Pahiatua Patriotic Carnival. The evidence showed that he sold several tickets. The justices considered the public should be protected against exploitation of patriotic funds.
