BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The sharemarket was quiet yesterday. In standard stocks. New Zealand Insurances were quoted at £5 16s bd bysellers and at £5 13s by buyers. South British Insurances were looked for at 87s 6d and 83s. but sellers did not quote, Northern Coals changed hands at 7s 6d. A transaction in Hill an d Plummers was reported at 20s. Business in His Majesty's Arcade Theatre stocks (pref.) was effected at (19s 3d).

A slight drop was recorded in Waihis and Talismans. At the third call, Waihis changed hands at 35s 9d. Talismans lound sale at 17s 6d. 17s 3d. and 17s 9.1. Sellers asked 22s and 21s 9d for Waihi Grand unctions, and buyers were prepared to give 21s 6d. AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. Previous day's closing sales.
