CITY WATER SUPPLY. 'AUGMENTED from DOMAIN. (From the TIERALT) of July -2, 1865.1 We understand that tlie suggestion of Mr. Weaver for bringing as much >vater from the Domain as possible to increase ■d"h« present scanty supply of that necessary article in Auckland, is at once to In 1 earned out. The Domain Board have given the necessary permission, and the work will, we presume, be. set aN>ut at once so that the water to be obtained may he at i h-r. disposal of tho inhabitants at as early a date as possible. Since we last wrote on the water question we have advanced one stage further in the reporting operations. and the above is indication of action being taken in a smaller way to give Auckland a better supply of water. Now that Mr. Weaver ha-s given us another ve|K>rt we shall be glad to hear that His Honor will take the bull by the horns and grapple with the water supply question in earnest. Whatever scheme seems l>est, that let us have carried out at tilw earliest possible moment, whether it. I*3 Waitakerei or Onehnnga, We still believe that the former would heft- suit us if we c<>uld carry it., but if the expense is too great for the present means, then take the next best, and arrange so that all the plans being matured, the work may be commenced and pushed on with as miKih vigour as possible.
