BARBAROUS MURDERS.
FRESH GERMAN GRIMES. TWO PERSONS BURNT ALIVE. (Received July 8, 9.30 p.m.) London, July 7. Reuter's correspondent at Paris states that shots were recently fired at a patrol in the streets of Peronne. The Germans insisted that they came from a house occupied by a bailiff called Derbecq. The latter pointed out the marks of the bullets, which proved that he was not guilty. The Germans paid no heed to his explanation, locked up Derbecq and his daughter, sprayed the house with petrol, and set are to it. Both the man and his daughter were burned alive.
