ALLIES READY FOR THE GERMAN ONSLAUGHT.
FORMIDABLE BARRIER OF ARTILLERY ESTABLISHED, OFFENSIVE LIKELY TO COST THE ENEMY DEAR. London, July 7. Correspondents in Northern France indicate that the allies art awaiting the full fury of the offensive. The enemy's plan seems to be to multiply the number of points of attack in order to prevent the allies knowing where the biggest effort will be made. A French staff officer states that the allied line is so strongly held and so supported by a formidable artillery barrier that any serious German offensive will cost the enemy terrible losses. .- There are rumours that the French possess an important new weapon, both for defence and attack.
