EXPORT OF POTATOES.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE.
[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] Wellington, Tuesday. A Gazette Extraordinary contains an Order-in.-Cour.cil prohibiting the export of potatoes.
The Prime Minister stated to-night that the Government had taken power to prohibit the 'export of potatoes if necessary. " I don't say it is necessary at present," added Mr. Massey, "but if there is any trouble we can do it."
