OFFICERS AND MEN.

NURSES PROCEEDING TO FRONT. Captain J. G. Roache, of the sth, Wellington, Infantry, who went to Samoa with Hi a first Expeditionary Force, returned to New Zealand by the Atua, which arrived at Auckland last night. Captain Roacho has been invalided home after an attack of typhoid fever, and will continue his journey to Wellington this afternoon. Matron Brooke and Sister Willis, of the Army nursing staff, were also passengers by the same steamer, having been ordered to Wellington to join the hospital ship Maheno. At the timeof being relieved, they were the only members of the original Army nursing staff remaining at Samoa, They proceed to Wellington this afternoon. Nine non-commissioned officers and men of the New Zealand military forces also returned from Samoa by the Atua. Of these, Staff-Sergeant Hale, QuartermasterSergeant Dyer, of the Army Medical Corps, Field Cashier D. Moroney, and Private Whitford, have been transferred back to Wellington. , Privates. E. Foley, W. J. Barker. J. Davidson, H. J. Poberts, and E. D. Elcock, have been invalided honre.

LOYALTY OF FIJI.

SECOND CONTINGENT ACCEPTED

A cablegram accepting the services of a second contingent from Fiji has be& received by the Governor of Fiji from Mr. Bonar Law, Secretary of State for the Colonies. The contingent, which will number 44 men, is now being arranged, and it will proceed to England via Vancouver. It will be attached to the King's O-wn Rifles. The first Fijian contingent joined the King's Rifles in Flanders some time ago, and has already suffered a number of casualties in the firing-line. i
