HOUSEWIVES' UNION. ♦ WOMEN'S SENTIMENTS TOWARDS WAR. The usual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Housewives' Union was held in the Trades Hall on Wednesday' evening. It was unanimously agreed to sup. port the Women's Political League in asking for the complete enfranchisement of women, so that women might have an opportunity of attacking the causes of wars. It was stated that in spite of the muzzzling of the press of Germany it was known that 5000 women assembled before the Reichstag in Berlin, and earnestly implored their; Government to bring about peace.
