Reports upon the results of the member* skip campaign were made at a committee meeting of the Auckland Provincial Industrial Association, held yesterday afternoon! in the office of the secretary, Mr. T. E. Whitton. The president,' Mr. S. J. Harbutt, presided. There were also presents —Messrs. .8, J. Nathan, B. Butt'e, F. M. Hills, H. Dearsley, A. McCosh Clark. P.. B. Winstone, 6. C. Gar-lick, and A. McColl. v ? Thirty-six new members were elected. Members of the committee undertook to continue the campaign during the next month. The committee decided to appoint a delegate to the conference regarding a proposed national highway between Auckland and Wellington, convened by the Taumarunui Chamber of Commerce. The president and the secretary were appointed to confer with the Headmasters' Association regarding the association's proposal to offer prizes for essays by school children. x A report was made by the president regarding the steps taken by the Chamber of Commerce in connection with the sug« gested manufacture of munitions. Mem* - bers agreed that the association should cooperate fully with the kindred organisation in this matter. The treasurer reported that the asso?ia< ) lion had a. batik balance of £109 l<Js sd.
