INSTITUTE OF SURVEYORS.
The monthly meeting of the local committee of the Institute of Surveyors was held on Wednesday evening. It was decided to adopt the suggestions of the) sub-committee appointed to devise means of preventing the public from being victimised bv the cheap and inferior work of unscrupulous members of the surveying profession. The chairman (Mr. Chambers] described the progress made by the Auckland Town-planning League, in which Mr. , Chambers represents the institute, and the hope was expressed that the efforts of the league would assure the permanent. beauty of the city.
