" In exercise of tho powers conferred upon it by Section 6 of ' The Auckland City and Auckland Harbour Empowering Act. 1914,' the Body Corporate, .called t the Mayor. Councillors, and Citnens of the City of Auckland, hereby rei«lves, by way of Special Order, as follows:— . it "1. That for the purpose* of providing and paying the compensation payable . in respect of the taking by the Body 1 Corporate, under the provisions of the ' above-mentioned Act, Allotments 2, 3, 3 and 6 of Section 12, of the City, of • 1 Auckland, the sum of .£12,000, being portion of the special loan' of £50,000 authorised by the said Act, be raised > as a special loan, and that debentures therefor be prepared and issued. "2. That tho said Debentures be for a ' term of 10 years from the 28th November, 1914; that they boar interest at the 1 rate of £5 per cent- per annum, payable half-yearly on the 28th days of ; May and November in each year. BY-LAWS No. 23. c I Public Notice is hereby given that the f following Resolution, passed at a Special Meeting of tho Auckland City Council held on the £th May, 1915, and intended to operate as a Special Order, will come up for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting 1 of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Auckland, on THURSDAY, 17th June. 1915, at seven o'clock p.m., viz. :— "That the Auckland City Council doth hereby, by Speoial Resolution intended to operate as a Special Order, resolve to make the following ' By-laws, to be known hereafter as . By-laws No. 23."' (Hore follow the By-laws.) • The object or purport of the said Bylaws is as follows:—(1) To extend and amend Uy-iaws Nos. 1, 12, and 15 of the City of Auckland: (2) to repeal all Bylaws n..,de by tho Grey Lynn Borough Council, except Sections 136, 137, 139, 143, 143, 145, 149, 154, 155, and 156 of By-laws No. ' 2, and Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Bylaws No. 9 of the said Council: (8) to amend Section 143 of the said By-laws No. , 2 by reducing the figures "Is 6d " and "Is ; 4d " to "ls'Sd," and by deleting alll words ; after the word "gallons;" (4) to amend Section 145 of the said By-laws No. 2 by ; reducing the figures "2s 6d" to "Is 6d:" (5) to re-enact the By-laws made by the i Grey Lynn Borough Council intended to ' be retained, as per Clause 2, fixing water rates and charges, also providing a minimum frontage to a public or private street, and .minimum area, for dwellings; (6) to provide for payment of charge for laying all water services; (7) to provide for pay- , mont of charges lor extraordinary water supply; (8) to extend and apply to the areas of Parnell and Grey Lynn all Byi laws of, the Auckland City Council; (9) to provide a reciprocal arrangement with the Hamilton Borough Council as to motordrivers' certificates of competency; (10, 11, 12, and 13) to forbid the koeping, letting, i continuation, -or assisting in the management of any house used for purposes of a brothel or disorderly house; (14 and 15) to forbid indecent,, profane, or obscene language, representation, or action in any street; (16) to provide for payment of deposits for supply of electrioity.
