ONEHUNGA CITIZEN'S DEATH.
' ' -* J : A ,painfully-sudden" death occurred at ' Oiiehunga on Friday - night-. Mr. Robert McCarten, of the firm of McCarten Bros., ■was sitting in ' front of the ~ fire, when , he expired without uttering a word. When,; ? Mr. McCarten returned home that even- : ing from 'Ellerslie,-where he " had been -' working all day, he ' complained of a,pain ' I in his cheat and i attributed it to a cold 7 which he had felt coming on him for°a day or two. About nine o'clock a ' doctor . prescribed for /deceased,: but did ' not anticipate . anything serious. Death took ; place before, the messenger returned . from • * the 'chemist with the medicine. The cause'" of death being certified to, no inquest was necessary. , Deceased was 52 •;-years/"" of age. He leaves wife and 10 children/; The > funeral took place , yesterday, - and . was largely attended.- .
