CHURCH SERVICES.
The Anglican Bishop of Auckland, Dr. ,A. W. Averill, conducted a confirmation service at St. Andrew's, Epsom, yesterday morning, thero being between 30 and 4( candidates. In the evening he preached at Penrose, where it is hoped to erect shoitly an Anglican church or church hall, | The Central Mission held its usual services yesterday. The morning meeting was attended by a large congregation. The evening service was somewhat affected bj ! the weather, but nevertheless a good conI gregation gathered. The preacher, the [Rev. J. Bissett, conducted the service [ taking for his reading John 1., 35 to 42, > The Soloist, Mr. J. McDougal, sang " Con' I aider the Lillies how they Grow." The band took part.
