GENERAL'S STIRRING TRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALANDERS.

"IMPERISHABLE RECORD OF MILITARY VIRTUE."
The following message has been received by His Excellency the Governor, the. Earl of Liverpool, from Sir lan Hamilton, in reply to one His Excellency sent on May 3:—
"May I, speaking out of a full heart, he permitted to say how gloriously the New Zealand and Australian Contingents have upheld (he finest traditions of our race during this struggle still in progress, At first with audacity and dash, and since then with sleepless valour and untiring r, source they have already created for their country an imperishable record of military virtue.

MESSAGE ACKNOWLEDGED BY MINISTER FOR DEFENCE.
NEW ZEALAND MORE THAN PROUD OF HER SONS.
Wellington'. May 12.
In reply to Sir lan Hamilton's telegram relating to the New Zca landers at the Dardanelles, the Hon. Jas. Allen, Minister for Defence, has sent the following cablegram:—" His Excellency has sent me your splendid message, which will be made public in New Zealand to-day. New Zealand is more than proitd of what her sons have donV. ami what you have been able to say of them.''
A cablegram from Melbourne states that in the House of Assembly the I'lime Minister, Mr. Andrew Fisher, amid demonstrations of enthusiasm, read a message of appreciation of the services of the Australians at the Dardanelles from General Sir hn Hamilton, similar to that sent to the Dominion.
