ADJOINING PROPERTY PURCHASED
The secretary of the New Waitaia Gold Mining Company, Mr. H. Gilfillan, reports that the company has purchased and taken over the entire property and assets of the Mountain King Gold Mining Company. This property adjoins the New Waitaia mine. The plant purchased consists of a five-head stamper battery, a suction-gas plant, and a cyanide plant. Reporting on operations in tho New Waitaia mine during tho past week the manager states that the reef at the north end of the low level is divided by a band of country rock. The ore is fair grade, and there are indications that tho reef will improve. In the stope above the intermediate level going north from No. 3 rise the reef is 9in wide, and at tho last breaking-down it showed gold plainly. A stope has also been taken along the south of the rise. The reef at this point is erratic in size, but shows gold freely.
