NON-NATURALISED GERMANS.
PALMERSTON RESOLUTION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— I'RESS ASSOCIATION'.]
PALsrERSTo.v North, Wednesday.
At a recruiting meeting held here todav the following resolution was carried : — " Inasmuch as it is to longer war with an honourable nation, but a combination of criminals. whost •aethods are those of assassination, piracy, and murder in their most revolting and fiendish forms, this meeting urges on the Government, especially the Prime Minister, to communicate with' the Imperial Government emphasising the necessity of confiscating to the Crown the property of nonnaturalised Germans."
It was further resolved that Germans naturalised in New Zealand should be required to prove their loyalty to the British Crown by forswearing German citizenship; that unnaturalised Germans should be interned forthwith; that Germans who expressed views derogatory to the British or their allies, or hostile to the cause of Great Britain and their allies, should bo immediately arrested and tried for high treason.
