WORKMEN INJURED.

A man named Frederick Tapp met with severe injuries to his back yesterday while engaged in removing tho roof from an old building, belonging to the Railway Department at Mechanics' Bay. He was standing on a plank, which was placed across two rafters, when it broke and ho fell a distance of about 15ft. Dr. King was called, and attended to the injured man, who was later removed to his home.

A Northcoto resident, E. L. Flay, had tlie misfortupo to have the tops of two fingers of his left hand cut off by the pinning machine at Messrs. J. Brown and Son's cabinetmaking factory in Upper Queen Street yesterday afternoon. The injured man was sent to the hospital for medical attention.
