Dr. P. F.Frengley,.. Deputy - Chief ; frf Health Officer, has been appointed Deputy- - '*• Inspector-General of Hospitals. . 'i Professor James Hight, of Canterbury College, has been re-elected a member of the Senate of the University of New Zealand unopposed. Fathers O'Sullivan, Roach, and Kelly, of the Redemptorist Order, Wellington, arrived in Auckland on Saturday, and will conduct a revival mission here. Captain E. A. Belcher, formerly headmaster of Christ's College, Christehurch, who was appointed to the 9th (Service) Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, in January, has been promoted to the rank of major. The battalion is at present at Falmouth, and forms part of the 103 rd brigade.
