mm*jmmm Bantam battalions are becoming popular. They are composed of men between sft and sft 3in in height. The first battalion, was formed at Birkenhead, where there are now 2700 "bantams" enrolled. There is another at Manchester, and one at Leeds. The "bantams," in whom Sir Ryland Adkins is interested, are the 17th and 18th battalions of th'o Lancashire Fusiliers. ' Lord Kitchener approves of the movement. The men are described as ' as level a lot as j you can see, and the effect of these short men, all of the same height, is impressive. ' A course of training in massage which will qualify students to sit for examination under the proposed Masseurs Registration Act for a State certificate in massage will ccmmence at Dunediu on April 19, 1915. Tho assistant profwor of anatomy and physiology at tho Otago University Mill conduct the requisite classes in these subjects. An advertisement appears in this 1 issue.
