WORK IN MISSION FIELD.
DR. G. BROWN'S EXPERIENCE. The veterinary missionary mid explorer, Dr. George Brown,' D.D., president of the Methodist Church of Australasia, preached at the Pitt street Methodist Church last evening. In the course of his sermon he dwelt on the splendid missionary work accomplished in the South Sea Islands under the auspices of the Methodist Mission. The mission in tho islands commenced in 1874, and it was the beginning of one of the greatest revivals since the Day of Penrecost. Through the x love of Christ the natives of Tonga had been constrained to carry the Gospel to other islands. In this manner the Gospel had | spread like a tidal wave to all the islands of the Southern Seas. Missionary work I had everywhere proved tho correctness of Wesley's 'definition that "man is a creature capable of God." The Women's Auxiliary will hold a reception this afternoon when Dr. Brown will give a further missionary address. On Wednesday evening' he will be present at a united missionary demonstration in the Pitt Street Church and will address the gathering.
