AUCKLAND WEEKLY NEWS.

ON SALE TODAY. PRICE SIXPENCE. LAST OF THE BLUCHER. REMARKABLE PICTURE. WAR PHOTOGRAPHS. LATEST FROM THE FRONT. NEW ZEALANDERS IN EGYPT. TROOPS LEAVING SAMOA. RACES AT ELLERSLIE. MISCELLANEOUS PICTURES. To-day's edition of the Auckland Weekly News is a particularly attractive number. Its feature is a remarkable naval picture admitted in England to be the most wonderful war photograph ever taken. It depicts the last moments of the Blucher, and shows the vessel on her side and her crew, some clinging to her hull and others sliding down into the water, from which many of them were rescued by British destroyers. Many new photographs from the eastern and western war theatres also appear, the most interesting of which show how the British soldiers alternately fight and improve the condition of their trenches, scenes within the German lines in the Yser district, men of an enemy submarine crew sinking the British merchantman Ben Cruachan, Germans leaving Berlin to meet the Russians in East Prussia, a busy day in the market square at Fumes, Belgium, the death of General von Falkenhayn's son in an aerial duel, a British soldier in France assisting a farmer with his ploughing, and a portion of the Austrian fortifications at Przemysl. In addition to a composite page of I Egyptian snapshots by a New Zealander, appear views of a procession of several [ hundred Turkish prisoners, boats in which the enemy attempted to cross the canal, and groups of the veterinary corps, Auckland Mounted Rifles, and Te Puke volunteers. Other illustrations deal with the Easter race meeting at Ellerslie, a street procession in Wellington, presentation to the retired manager of the Government farm of instruction at Ruakura, Presbyterian Bible Class Union's encampment at Motutapu, a fatal motoring accident near Havelock, New Zealand troops leaving Samoa, and scenes in Taranaki. Numerous other illustrations, including portraits and cartoons, complete an edition which, for topical interest, is not equalled in Australasia.
