TECHNICAL TEACHING.

TEACHERS FORM ASSOCIATION. [by telegraph.—press association.] CHEisTCHtrRCH,. Tuesday. At a meeting held on Saturday, a New Zealand Technical School Teachers' Association was formed, with power to register under lie Education Act, and so come under tho teachers' court of appeal.' Fourtosn delegates were present, and dl the technical day-schools, except Dunedin and Wellington, were represented. The constitution adopted provides that members must belong to a local association and must be engaged for 20 hours at least teaching or supervising or giving instruction under the manual and technical regulations. The executive must consist of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and four others, and at least two must be women. Not more than one director may have a seat on the executive. The annual general meeting will take place in January of each year. Each association will be allowed one vote for every four members. The objects of the association include tho promotion of exchanges of teaching schemes, and the bringing together of teachers of tho same subjects at different technical schools. The folioving officers were elected:— President, Mr. I. E. Newton, M.A., Christchurch; vice-president, Mr. A. D. Trendall, A.8.1.C.C., Auckland; secretary, Mr. G. J. Park, B. Com., Christchurch: executive, Misses Wilson, M.A., Invercargill, and Little, Dunedin, and Messrs. R. Thompson, Auckland, W. A. Armour, M.A., M.Sc, Wanganui; auditor Mr. N. Goldsbury, A.1.A.N.Z., Christchurch. ' It has been decided to endeavour to ni range a conference of secondary schools teachers in connection with the forthcoming election of the Council of Education.
