The Svdney Morning Herald eaid of him:—"ln nearly half-a-century oi work lr th-; South S<-as, Dr. Brown acquired a. remarkable knowledge of the Polynesian races, much of which will remain a permanent possession of science, and the part ha has played in the spread of peace and civilisation gives him a just claim to a prominent place in the annais of the Pacific." He is now 80 years of ace.
