NO SCENIC RESERVE.

Ax intimation to the effect that lie could not recommend that Wigmore's Bush, near Piha, West Coast, should be dedicated as a scenic reserve has been forwarded to the City Council by the Minister for Lands, the Hon. \Y. F. M.issey. In support of the stand he lia-s taken up the Minister pointed out that a large percentage of the kauri timber in the bush was in such a condition as to render the forest wholly unsuitable for scenic purposes. This statement was corroborated by the Mayor, Mr. C. J. Parr, who stated that the bush was on the side of a steep ravine and that most of the kauri was deed.
