Cable advice received by the local office oi the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the liner Koiorua, which left .Plymouth, on January 28 for Auckland and Wellington, via ports, arrived at Capetown on Wednesday last- The vessel is due at Auckland on March 15.

THE STAR OF AUSTRALIA. Messrs. Heather, Roberton. Ltd. local agents for the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, advise that the steamer Star of Australia arrived at Melbourne on Wednesday last from London. After visiting Sydney the vessel comes on to Auckland. She is due here about March 3. The Star of Australia, wOl subsequently visit Napier and Wellington to complete her discharge. RUAHINE LEAVES HOBART. . The A'ew Zealand Shippiag Company's liner Ruahine. from London to Wellington and Lyttelton. arrived at Hobart at 8 a.m. on Thursday and resumed her voyage the same evening. The Ruahine is due at Wei lmgton on Tuesday morning next. BARQUE SIGHTED The signalman at Tiritiri reports that a barque was sighted at 8 a.m. yesterday oS the Little Barrier Island- The vessel is probably the Rona, 18 days out from Newcastle to Auckland She should reach port today. HOKNELEN DUE FROM VANCOUVER. The cargo steamer ilornelen, from Vancouver. to the agency of the Union Company, 13 now fully due at Auckland The vessel is bringing 95.000 bushels of wheat and a quantity- of flour for Auckland and Wellington Sue had not been reported up to a late hour last night. THE STEAMER HESPEROSThe steamer Hesperos, which sailed from St. John's. Canada, on January 5 for Lyttelton and other Southern ports with a cargo of wheat, is expected to report at Tiritiri at any time now. The Hesporos will not enter Cort unless she is in need of a supply of tinker coal, but will receive orders to proceed on to Lyttelton. WAIWERA LEAVES MONTE VIDEO. Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co . NEW HARBOUR LIGHT. A new guiding light is to be erected in, Auckland Harbour The light will be an untolled one, and is to bo placed at the end of the sandspit -which runs out from the northern shore below the Victoria Wharf at Devonport. A pile-driver was engaged yesterday in driving the heavy wooden piles which will support the concrete foundation, oi the beacon.
