EXCHANGE DEMORALISED. BRITAIN HOLDING GOLD. MEETING OF BANKERS. (Received February 18. 130 a.m.) New York, February 16. The foreign exchange is demoralised. On sight drafts on London have reached the lowest figure known in thirty years. A meeting of international bankers is pending, to endeavour to adjust condition.'.. The situation is largely due to the heavy exports of war materials, coupled with Britain's refusal to release gold.
