SrvA, January 28. The Atua, on her arrival from "Tonga,, via Samoa, reported that there had been a hurricane at Tonga-. At Vavau crops "ere damaged, and buildings were unroofed.
In a severe gal; at Samoa the schooner Manua was driven ashore. The Atua encountered a severe hurricane between .Vavau and Samoa.,
'N avau is one of the sub-groups of the Tonga Ulands. The population of Vavau if= between 4000 and 5000.. of whom about 100 are Europeans.
