LIQUOR PROSECUTIONS.

TECHNICAL BREACHES.

[by telegraph.— press association-] Pahiatta, Thursday. Several charges in connection with liquor sent into a no-license, district at Pongaroa came before the magistrate here to-day, the breaches of the law being of a technical character. The defendants were a Makuri hotelkeeper, the driver of the Pahiatua-Pongaroa mail coach, and a Pongaroa storekeeper. The defendant* stated that they were unaware of the provisions of the amending Act. In each case the defendants were merely convicted. Altogether there were eight charges, and some were adjourned.
