A fire at Hrunnerton yesterday destroyed the Buck's Head Hotel, Nitnmo's ET.era'. store, the Borough Council offices, the Druids' lodgeroom. and Armstrong's st •-•■> av.d bakery premises. The last-r.fc-ok-i "'ere unoccupied. except for some ? rt": hardware, which was stored there. "1,, tire originated in this building. All were totally destroyed, though a quantity c- *to. k was saved. The total damage is estimated at £3000.

This is the second time within 12 months that the Borough Chambers and the Druids' premises have been burned. re- origin of the fire is not known. Mr. N •■'.mo had an insurance of £500 on his stock, and £150 on the building. The hotel insurances were £400 on the build-

A magisterial inquiry into The circumstances attending the destruction by fire of fancy goods said soft drinks shops, conducted by Diehard Ridsdale, was concluded by the district magistrates to-day. Th--" vorditt set out that no evidence had been tendered from which it could be reasonably inferred that either Mrs. or Miss Ridsdale intentionally caused the fire ; that the insurance or. the stock and the fittings (£850) greatly exceeded the value at the lime of the fire ; that the stock and fittings were insured five years previously, and had never been reinspected or revalued on behalf of the insurance company.
