POSITION OF CONSIGNEES.
CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY.
AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVES.
A meeting of consignees of cargo; in German vessels interned in Java waters, was held in the Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon to discuss what means should be taken to obtain delivery of the goods. Mr. A. B. Roberton presided. It was decided that the Auckland consignees ask Messrs. Goliin and Company to represent them nt the conference of chambers of commerce, to be held in Sydney to-day, with a view to final arrangements being decided upon as to the best course to follow. The Wellington consignees agreed this week to appoint Messrs. Goliin and Company, who exCressed their willingness to also act on ehalf of Auckland consignees. 1 Messrs. A. B. Roberton, A. D. Stewart, E. D. Benjamin, J. E. Moore, and A. Laurie, were appointed a committee to consider the position further, when Messrs. Goliin and Company's report comes to hand.
A resolution was passed thanking Mr. N. E. King, manager of the Auckland branch of 51essrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., for the trouble he had gone to in obtaining information for the benefit of the consignees.
