EX-KHEDIVE'S DOINGS.
GRAVE IRREGULARITIES.
Cairo, January 20.
A commission has been appointed to examine into the administration of the religious foundations belonging to the Khedival family. Grave irregularities have been revealed. The ex-Khedive, with the assistance of the directors of the foundations, is said to have been withdrawing sums due to other members of the family. Sensational revelations are expected. .
EGYPT'S NEW SULTAN.
THE CHANGE OF RULE.
Sydney, January 21
A member of the Australian Expeditionary Force, writing about the accession of the new Sultan of Egypt, says that the Egyptians are indifferent oyer it,. and are by no means enthusiastic about the changes in the Government. Many of them, however, hated the Turkish yoke. Now they are learning to love the Australasian soldier, not because they admire him personally, because he spends money freely.
