STOCKS AND SHARES.
BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.
The sharemarkct was quiet yesterday. In investment stocks, there was inquiry for Bank of New Zealands (fully paid) at £16 atnd £16 7s 6d, but sellers asked £16 15s. Union Bank of Australia shares were quoted at £55 by buyers. A transaction in New Zealand Insurances was reported at £5 18s, and sellers closed at £6 Is. South British Insurances were in demand at 88s, but no sellers came* forward.
Waihi mining shares were done at 41s, more being offered at 41s 3d. Talismans were done at 28s 6d. Business in Waihi Grand Junctions was effected at 24s 3d and 245. Sellers of Waihi-Paeroas asked 20s, but no buyers were in evidence.
