FLIGHT OVER NORFOLK BOMBS FALL ON FOUR TOWNS I 'J i— ■ KING JUST LEFT FOR LONDON THREE DEATHS REPORTED A Zeppelin raid on Norfolk is the feature of today's war news. Bombs were dropped on Yarmouth, Sherringham, Sandringham, and King's Lynn. The raid took place on Tuesday evening. King George had left Sandringham on Tuesdayafternoon. Five bombs were dropped on Yarmouth, where three persons were killed and some houses shattered. Two bombs were dropped on Sherringham, four on King's Lynn, and several on Sandringham, but no damage or loss of life is reported except from Yarmouth. A raid was expected in England, and at the time of the attack on Norfolk towns, the anti-aircraft guns in London were manned, and searchlights playing. The attacking aeroplane escaped. Snowstorms are general over the war area in Belgium and France. The Canadian infantry, who distinguished thenv selves at Ypres, hed just been a fortnight at the front when they were given their opportunity in the first line of trenches. They are now resting before returning to the trenches. Russia reports a further victory over the Turks on the Russo-Turkish frontier. After a battle lasting two days the Turks fled. Nine hundred of them were found in a wood frozen to death.
A report from Cairo states that there are 60,000 Turkish
regulars, 60,000 recruits, and 70,000 Bedouins in Syria.
