London, January 16.

The secretary of the Liverpool Shipowners' Association, reporting on the congestion of the British overseas trade, states that the imports for the five months from August to December totalled £262,515,278, as compared with £328,644,354 in the same period of 1913. The exports totalled £130,367,734, as against £221,241,400 the previous year. The tonnage bringing the imports decreased by 29 per cent.
