STEEPLEJACK INJURED. EXCITING EXPERIENCE. By Telegraph— Association—Copyright. London, December 24. Three steeplejacks named Jackson, Rafter, and Mayhall, who were repairing a chimney at a Leeds electricity works, had a remarkable experience. Rafter dropped a hammer on the head of Mayhall, who was some feet below his companion. Mayhall fell backwards unconscious, and was suspended by the legs.

Rafter descended, and, with the third steeplejack's assistance, placed a rope round Mayhall, who was lowered to the ground, a distance of 150 ft. He is now lying in a hospital unconscious.
