IRISH GUARDS COMMANDER

NEW ZEALAND OFFICER. London, November 17. Brigadier-General Charles Fitzclarence, V.C., was killed at Ypreti. Lieutenant. Frederick George Andrews, of the Fourth Liverpool Regiment, a New Zcaland.;r, was killed in the North of Frarce.

_ Brigadier-General Charles Filzclarenee, V.C., commanded the Irish Guards. He was born in 1865 and entered the army in 1886. He served in South Africa, where he was twice, wounded, and where he received the Victoria Cross.
