FAR-SEEING BANKERS.
BECOME BRITISH SUBJECTS QUESTIONS IN PARLIAMENT. London, November 17. Replying to a question in the House, tho- Home Secretary (Mr. R. McKenna)'stated that Baron Bruno von Schrbeder, the banker, was naturalised on August 7, and that Julius Rittershausen, a prominent member of Schroeder's firm, was naturalised on September 2d. Mr. McKcnna said he was satisfied that it was advantageous to the public to grant these men their naturalisation certificates.
Haron Bruno von Schroedt-r, is the , senior partner in the hanking house of J. Henry Schroeder, of London. He was born in Hamburg. The Schroeders were concerned in the floating of the Hungarian loan of £20.800,000 in February last, one fifth of which was raised in London. Since the wir began strong comments have appeared in the leading London newspapers and magazines on the fact, that alien financiers who have utilised their business connection with London to supply our enemies with funds to fight us have been permitted to become naturalised British subjects since the outbreak of hostilities.
