SPURIOUS COINS IN NORTH.
MAN FOUND NOT GUILTY. [BY TELEGRArn — CORXESroXDENT.] Whawaeei, Wednesday. At the Magistrates Court today, Mr. E. Page, S.M., gave his reserved decision in a case where the police proceeded against a remittance man, named Frank Eaton Hudson, for having spurious —gilded sixpences his possession. The magistrate dimissed the case, on the grounds that although the circumstances were Suspicious there was not sufficient evidence to warrant a conviction. Hudson was then proceeded against on a charge of drunkenness. He was convicted and ordered to be sent to Roto Roa for a period of 12 months.
