INVITATION FROM BRITAIN.

[ The members of the council of the New | Zealand Bowling Association recently pre- | sented tho president, Mr. Casey, with a ! photograph of the council and a silver bowl, i suuubly inscribed. | The association's official tester. Mr. J. Jen- ' kin, has returned from Dunedin, alter hav- ! ing received the necessary instruction re- ! quired for manipulation of the testing maj chine. Mr. Jenkm speaks well of the machine, and says he will have no difficulty in ! testing the bowls in accordance with the rules of the association. Ho hopes to have the machine ready in the course of a r ew days. Bowlers will be notified when testing operations will begin. A communication from Scotland has been received by Mr. A. M. Bryden, secretary ot the Dominion Association, intimating to him that the official members, representing English. Irish, Scotch, and Welsh Associations, send a cordial invitation to New Zealand | bowlers to visit the Old Country. MOUNT EDEN CLUB. Entries for the Mount. Eden Bowling Club's matches will close on Saturday. Number 13 was in evidence 011 Saturday, when two teams, skipped respectively by D. Ferguson and S. Burns remained stationary for the last five heads. In the.game skipped by J. H. Trayes and R. Kankin, both learns wore 13 after playing 14 heads, when the former added another 13, and Rankin's addition was four only, the score board showing 26 to 17.
