The i Northern Company advise that the coastal steamer Tanman, which has been bar-bound at Whakatane- for several days, will probably arrive back at Auckland today. She is timed to sail at 3 p.m. tomorrow for Whakatane. , The coastal steamer Apanui,' which is due oack here from Awanui to-morrow, will Bail at midnight for Cabbage Bay, and will call at l/oromandel with passengers only. Mr. D. Teixcira, ohief officer of the JJaphne, has come ashore on holiday leave. fS* }• h ?, ms relieved by Mr. G. Woods, late oi the Rotomahana. Captain H Fletcher, late of the Talune was a passenger for Suva by the Navua yesterday. Captain Fletcher has been appointed to a shore position at Fiji. . The French stonmor Saint Francois was floated into the Graving Dock yesterday morning for cleaning and painting. The schooner Fairbnrn is expected to arrive at Auckland to-morrow morning from Upotiki with a cargo of produce She sails on Friday evening for Opotiki and Whakatane with general cargo. _, The Navua sailed yesterday afternoon for I'Ui. longa, and Saraoan ports.
STEAMER AOTEA SOLD. It is reported that (he small steamer Aotea has been purchased by Messrs. J. J. Craig, Ltd , of Auckland from tho Kaipara Steamship Company. The Aotea, which was built in 1898 at. Sydney, is a wooden vessel of 2G3 tens gross and 157 tons net. NIAGARA FOR SYDNEY. The Union Company's RMS. Niajram, Bailed shortly after nine o'clock last evening tor Sydney, in continuation of her voyage from Vancouver. The liner is due lat the .New South Wales port on Friday morning. She leaves again at noon on hursilay, November 26. for Auckland, being ! due here on Monday, November 30. Over 100 first, second, and third-class passengers joined the Niagara at Auckland. TtTRAKINA AT WELLINGTON. j The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Turakina arrived at Wellington last j evening from London, via Hobart. The | vessel brought a largo number of passengers tor Now Zealand. It is expected that the majority of those booked for Auckland will arrive by the Main Trunk express toI morrow morning. The Turakina will afterwards visit Lyttelton to discharge the balance of her Home cargo. WANAKA WITH PRODUCE. The Union Company's steamer Wanaka, which has been delayed at the Bluff bv rough j weather, arrive/1 at Wellington yesterday morning with ,1200 crates of cheese for tran--1 shipment to 'he Rolorua. She was expected to leave Wellington last evening for Napier. I Richardson and Company's coastal steamer I Koutunui. which went ashore on the East Coast recently, and which w;i3 subsequently ; refloated, has arrived at Napier. She has been placed on the slip at Port Ahuriri. Repairs are expected to be completed by the end of this week. MONOWAI FOR EAST COAST. It is expected that the overhaul and sur- ! vey of the Union Company's " ferry'' steamer Maori will lie completed in time to allow the vessel to lake up her usual running in the W»llington-Lyttelton service on December 11. The Monowai, which is relieving the Maori in the ferry service, will then be re-' leased, and will take up her former running in the Auckland-East Coast-Dunedin passenger service. When the Monowai resumes, the Tarawera will withdraw from the East' Coast service. The vessel brought a. full cargo of coal, and was berthed at the King's Wharf to discharge. The Manunui will subsequently load a cargo of timber at this port for Sydney. COLLIERS' MOVEMENTS. Tho Rakanoa is due at Auckland to-day from Westport. She is bringing a full cargo of coal for this port. The Union Company's chartered collier Moorabool loft Newcastle at 2 p.m. on Friday last for Auckland, with a full cargo of coal. She is due here on Thursday afternoon. The Kaituna left Newcastle at 7 p.m. on Friday last fur Auckland. She is bringing a full cargo of coal, and after discharging a part cargo here proceeds to Tokomaru Bay to put out the balance. The Kaituna should put in an appearance early on Friday morning. The Kaiapoi is to load a cargo of eoal at Westport this week for Auckland.
